Wylde Green Area Guide
Situated on the south side of Sutton Coldfield and bordered by Boldmere, Walmley, the Town Centre and Erdington. Wylde Green is an area steeped in history, in the 1850s substantial Victorian mansions began to appear along the Birmingham Road, Highbridge Road and Station Road in anticipation of the new railway, many can still be seen and purchased today that have become impressive family homes over the decades. Much of the housing in Wylde Green dates from the 1930s, late 1940s and 1950s – a great place to find your traditional three bedroom semi-detached. Sutton Coldfield Squash & Rackets Club can be frequented by beginners and advanced players alike from Highbridge Road. If Tennis or Squash is not your thing Wylde Green also offers its own shopping precinct on Brimingham Road with Hairdressers, a local Supermarket, Post Office and coffee shops. Birmingham City Centre is easily accessible from Wylde Green station on Station Road for commuters. Wylde Green Primary School is a great place to send those little ones for their first lessons in life and Bishop Walsh Catholic School for the later stages of learning.
